Barry was a Senior Experimental Officer at the University of Manchester and managed the Stopford Building workshops for over 20 years until 2008 where he was responsible for technical service provision to the Faculties of Medicine and Life Sciences. He currently holds an honorary teaching contract and lectures on a Medical Instrumentation Masters degree course.
